Wellbeing and mental health is of vital importance to us at Emerson Valley. The mental health of our children, families and staff is something that we need to pay close attention to and support as much as possible. We know that the children will need strategies to support their wellbeing and recognise how to get support when they need it.
As a school, we have committed to work towards gaining the Wellbeing Award for Schools. This is a big project for us and includes surveys and action plans in order to ensure we are doing the best we can for Mental health and wellbeing.
We are always scanning our children’s wellbeing state and encourage them to do the same, recognising how they are feeling and the others around them. We use the wellbeing scale as a structure which allows us to gauge our emotions and what we can do to support them better as individuals and the people around us.
