MK Schools Sporting Challenge
Sports Fixtures and Festivals Spring 1-2020
There was many fixtures and festivals that the children were involved in last half term. There have been several fixtures, that children from all year groups have played in. All of these fixtures were a chance for the children to play against children from other schools to play within teams and showcase what they have learnt in their PE lessons. These have included; Year 4 football, Boules, Year 3 Hockey, Year 4 Hockey, Year 5/6 Girls football, Year 5/6 Hockey, Year 6 Football, Year 4 Dodgeball and Year 4 Tag Rugby. Look below for photos.

There were many fixtures and festivals that the children were involved in the Autumn term. There have been several fixtures, that children from Year 4, 5 and 6 have taken part in. The children played against other schools within teams and have for some have they have learnt new skills and used them within games. These have included; Year 4 Basketball, Year 6 Basketball, Year 4 Tag Rugby, Year 5/6 Tag Rugby, Year 4/5/6 Cross Country, Year 6 Badminton. Look below for photos.

We have begun the academic year with numerous fixtures, events and festivals. Our aim this year is for each child to have taken part in a festival, fixture or sporting event. Year 4 Swimming Gala we finished joint 5th in October. Charley M and Zac H were invited to swim for a swimming club. Well done to all involved.
Cross Country
In the MK Schools Cross Country event in October, we came 5th in the Ultra Large section with the Senior Boys winning Gold medals. Some amazing individual finishes included Gabriel M – 5th, Felix M 8th and Misha C 9th. Well done to all 23 athletes.
In our Swimming assessments for Year 6, 44% have achieved their 25m on their front or back. Our aim by the end of the year is to achieve 85% of children to swim competently and feel safe in the water.
We welcome our new Sports Captains and Vice Captains this year. Our Sports Captains are Jack M and Megan L, our Vice Captains are Xavier S and Ellie L. We have also introduced our Young Leader Programme in Year 6 and have over 60 children taking part in organising lunch time games for Year 3 and 4 children across the week.
This year we have introduced a Sports Star of the week and Sports Team of the week, with them being announced and receiving an certificate in assembly on Friday morning.
Well done to all the children who have taken part in any sporting event so far this year!
