Pentagon Play

Our focus last year was to inspire active play and improve the physical play opportunities in our twitter school grounds.
We decided to revamp our existing playground and field which is a vast open space, and offered plenty of opportunities for our children to run around and enjoy the fresh air. However, there was nothing to inspire or challenge our children and help with their physical development. This could often lead to boredom and behaviour issues during playtimes.
We decided to install a Daily Mile track with activity spots, replace our existing Year 3/4 Trim trail and install a Grizedale Forest Trail for our Year 5/6 children. We chose a multitude of motivating mental and physical challenges to provide adrenaline-fuelled playtimes and, of course, plenty of physical development opportunities.
Our Daily Mile track is being used continuously throughout the day for all year groups and has truly been a huge success in enabling our children and staff to stay fit and active
The Year 3 Trim trail is a new and exciting resource for our children of all ages, and the Grizedale has given our older children their own separate play area which they are really enjoying.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Mathison, Mrs Batt and our school governors for helping to ensure that this project could begin. Pentagon Play were a joy to work with, they kept to our timelines and were extremely professional at all times. A special mention for the money donated from FRIENDS and our PE Department.
Thank you to everyone involved, our children will enjoy our amazing new facilities for many years to come.
